Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WhatZap ("we", "us", "our"), operating at whatzap.chat, collects, uses, and protects information when businesses use our platform to send and receive messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API).
Information we collect
- Account data — the name, email address, and password of users who register for a business account.
- Contact data — phone numbers and any attributes (such as name or city) that a business uploads to build its audience.
- Message data — the content, delivery status (sent, delivered, read), and timestamps of messages exchanged with recipients.
- WhatsApp credentials — a business's WhatsApp phone number ID and access token, stored encrypted at rest and used only to send messages on that business's behalf.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and log data generated when using the service.
How we use information
- To deliver the core service: sending template and session messages and recording their delivery status.
- To display conversations in a shared inbox and let businesses reply to their customers.
- To honour opt-out requests and maintain subscription status.
- To secure, maintain, and improve the platform.
WhatsApp & Meta
We use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform to send and receive messages. Message data is processed in accordance with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and Meta's terms. We do not use message content for advertising and do not sell personal data.
Opt-out
Recipients can stop receiving messages at any time by replying with STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, OPT OUT, or REMOVE ME). Once opted out, a contact is excluded from all future campaigns.
Data retention & deletion
We retain data for as long as a business account is active. A business may delete its contacts, messages, or its entire account at any time. To request deletion of your data, email privacy@whatzap.chat and we will remove the associated records within 30 days.
Security
Access tokens are encrypted at rest, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to tenant data is isolated per business. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
